T. Eliott Mansa

T. Eliott Mansa (b. 1977, Miami, FL) is a multidisciplinary artist creating assemblages, paintings, and sculptures that incorporate the aesthetic of amalgamation. By gathering materials from roadside memorials, he produces sculptures that reflect the ritual practices of West African, Caribbean and Southern religious and vernacular sculpture. Mansa’s intention is to trigger theradical imagination of viewers, encouraging them to subvert the status quo and find socio-politicalagency in their own communities.
