Basu’s series ‘Sisters of the Moon’ views the future of feminism as a necessary intersectional space, wherein the personal and political collide. A holistic future where climate and reproductive justice and a girl’s education are fundamentally connected. The artworks speculate on the future by embracing hybrid docu-fiction and recognizing radical transformation as being essential to feminist living and survival, and a necessity to prepare mentally, physically and spiritually for continued struggle. This series highlights the work the artist made and collaborating with major organizations as a tactic to amplify the message and make infrastructural changes at the ground level.
