The daily life of a woman in the rural regions regardless of the country in Africa is comprised of not only taking care of the household well-being but also one that requires a personal sacrifice in the name of tradition. The broom symbolizes responsibility of women is keeping the house in order. The woman on the right symbolizes the obligation of tradition as it relates to fetching water, in which a woman has to take care of things inside and outside the home. The window to the left symbolizes the women’s quest for a better future, while the traditional coffee pot on the ground called “Jebena” is symbolic of a woman’s traditional role.
