Jenkins Johnson Gallery New York is pleased to announce Porous Alternatives, a group exhibition featuring works by Erick Alejandro Hernandez, Cecilia Caldiera, Katie Chin, Adriana Furlong & Christian Amaya Garcia, Elisheva Gavra, Marty Koelsch, Kara Springer, Mariia Usova & Liam Schenk, and Yiying Wang.
Porous Alternatives is the result of the 2023-24 seminars of The Interdisciplinary Art and Theory Program (IATP) led by artist Meleko Mokgosi. Highlighting emerging New York-based artists that are recent graduates from prestigious MFA programs such as Yale, Parsons, and Columbia, these rising talents featured in this exhibition work across a variety of mediums, such as painting, sculpture, and installation. Exploring the concept of “alternative spaces,” these works envision radically different worlds and offer intimate, interconnected perspectives on people, time, and relationships. Porous Alternatives presents a collective vision of new possibilities in the competitive art scene, celebrating the potential of these emerging artists to reshape the future.
